The RNLI saves lives at sea. But beyond the work the volunteers do on our lifeboats and beaches, they are an active part of our community too. Their outreach work means they can help pupils of all ages to learn about water safety. They educate children through free visits and talks from their trained volunteers and lifeguards. They give children the knowledge they need to stay safe and inspire them by sharing the lifesaving work of RNLI volunteers, past and present.
Today the RNLI came into school to talk to the children in our assemblies. They then visited each classroom to allow the children to ask their own questions to find out more about the work that the RNLI does.
